This Week's Make N Takes

Hello card makers! It's time to show off this week's Make N Takes! 

Haven't heard about our Make N Takes? Creations Galore offers three new cards every week for you to create. Grab your favorite adhesive, some foam risers, and a friend, we've got the rest! That's right! We've done all the design work for you and have a kit with paper and embellishments waiting for you. All of the tools needed, along with step-by-step instructions and a card example, are always available at our Make N Take station. So come during store hours at your own connivence - Your lunch break, your day off, or an escape from the kiddos. Each card is just $2.

We Love Valentine's Day: DIY Cupcake Toppers

Good morning, Paper Crafters! Creations Galore has welcomed new Valentine's themed stamps, stickers, and paper collections, and it has us excited about Cupid's special day! We're positive that these cupcake toppers will get you excited too! 

Gather your favorite valentine themed inks and stamps, strips of cardstock, and toothpicks! After stamping your design or sentiment onto the paper strips, wrap them around the toothpick. You can use double sided tape, a tape runner, or liquid glue to hold them in place. Leave as is or cut a triangle out of one end to create a pendant. Not a fan of stamping? No problem! Use border stickers or patterned paper strips to achieve the same look.

2014 Title Page & Word Of The Year

Thanks for joining us for another adventure in Pocket Scrapbooking! It's a new year, which means a fresh start. Maybe you're focusing on a few goals, resolutions or a word. Creations Galore is here to help you document it all!

To start of the new year right, Nicole created a 2014 title page for her new, white American Crafts 12x12 Leather Album. She's using the 12x12 Pocket Protectors from American Crafts as well. It was simple to cut up 3x4 and 4x6 piece of patterned paper from the Wildflower Collection. 

The Wildflower Collection Pack by Carta Bella also came with a 12x12 sheet of journaling cards. Nicole picked her favorite, cut it to size, and simply slipped it into one of the pockets. A few stickers from the collection and Studio Calico wood veneers were used to embellish two die cuts. The cuts were created from American Crafts Light Kraft cardstock using the Silhouette Cameo. 

After creating the title page, Nicole moved onto her word of the year. This year she's focusing on the word discipline and wanted to include it at the start of her album. Scrapbooking can be a form of therapy and accountability! 

She adhered 2-6x12 pieces of patterned paper together. The piece will fit into the 6x12 page protectors from Becky Higgins and work as the perfect insert in her 3-ring album. To place the focus on the word, which was cut from patterned paper using the Silhouette Cameo, she decorated it with vellum, wood veneers, stamps, and a doily. Below these layers she wrote out her thoughts on this word and her goals for the coming year.

Layout Tuesday: Christmas Day Fun

The holidays may be over, but that doesn't stop Creations Galore from carrying Christmas themed items! Plus, we have so many photos to scrap now! That's why today's Layout Tuesday is dedicated to this fun layout using Crate Paper's Peppermint Collection and highlights our favorite kids on Christmas Day! 

We love the fun mix of colors in this collection which coordinated perfectly with the bright colors in the photos. The title came from the 12x12 Chipboard Stickers. We added a few more chipboard pieces to the layout to coordinate with the stickers and brads. But our favorite part of this collection and layout are the Stand Outs. They're self adhesive, quickly adding dimension and interest to any project!

This beginner class, taught by a Copic Certified Instructor, will introduce you to Copic markers and give you the opportunity to practice various blending techniques.

Class Spotlight: Creating With Alcohol Inks

Alcohol Inks are one of Creations Galore's favorite mediums. From the creative mind of Tim Holtz, this acid free, fast drying, transparent product is perfect for all kinds of projects. We've gathered together a collection of techniques and tips and have turned it into a 2 hour class just for you! Join us in experimenting with the product that creates a colorful, polished stone effect. 

In this class, you will: 

• Learn about the possibilities of alcohol inks and how to used them in your crafts. 
• Try out the tools and inks needed before purchasing any product.
• Learn and practice (8) alcohol ink techniques.
• Lighten, blend, and remove colors. 
• Create metallic highlights. 
• Learn how to turn your creations into backgrounds, embellishments, cards, and more.

Layout Tuesday: Smile

Good morning, paper crafters! It's time for another Layout Tuesday. Today's selection is a clean and simple design from a sample wedding album here in the store. A big thank you to Mr & Mrs Coldagelli for letting us use their GORGEOUS photos to inspire couples everywhere!

For this layout, the pictures were adhered directly to the background paper, a 12x12 piece of white cardstock. We used the same cardstock and the Silhouette Cameo to create the large title. The ability to cut any font, along with the weld option, make it so easy to add the title as one full piece. 

To add some color, we grabbed embossed cardstock stickers from the Chalkboard Collection by We R Memory Keepers. Several pieces from the sticker sheet were layered onto the page with a die cut of a simple typed word. 

We can't help but smile after looking at those candid photos.
