Creating With Alcohol Inks

You may have noticed that this week one of our Make N Takes involves Alcohol Inks. I absolutely love using this medium to easily create the most unique and stunning cards. On Thursday, February 23rd, ladies gathered in our classroom for demonstrations on seven different techniques. After each demonstration, they tried it out for themselves and turned them into handmade cards. Here's a look into the class:

Valentine Tag Tutorial

Looking for last minute Valentine ideas? Lori has you covered. She's created these adorable Valentine Tags, tied them to a set of pencils with bling, and is ready to spread some love. Just follow a few simple steps, and you too can have a set of tags to wrap around candy or other goodies to give away to coworkers, friends, and fellow crafters!

To get started, you'll need to gather a few tools and materials.

Valentine-themed Stamps
Ink Pads
Ribbon & Paper Scraps
Heart Punches
Hole Punch

Begin by creating two hearts that you can layer on top of each other. We used Marvy punches; however, you could cut your own, use a punch, or cut the shapes from your Cricut.

Make your layers pop by adding pigment, chalk, or distress ink to the outside edges of your die cuts. Small dew drop or cat eye ink pads work perfect for this step.

Next, stamp or write your sentiment. If you're creating these with your children, let them write their friend's names in the heart.

By punching a hole through both of the layers, you can save time and money. No need to adhere the layers together... the ribbon will do that for you!

For the final step, tie the tag onto your Valentine's goodies - pencils, chocolates, suckers, etc.

For your card club members or fellow crafters, try one of these fun gifts!

Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist
ZIG 2-Way Glue
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen

I hope you've enjoyed Lori's tutorial and are inspired to create your own Valentine's this week!
