Quick Tip: Coloring Ribbon + Twine

Copic markers are our favorite coloring medium. We reach for them time and time again. They're vibrant, blend easily, and are refillable. As an alcohol based marker, they stick to non-porous surfaces and are permanent. This makes it easy to color white, clear, or silver embellishments. We use this technique on everything from eyelets to self adhesive pearls.

As you can see above, today we tried it on baker's twine. Simply drag the nib along your ribbon or twine to change its color. This works on satin, grosgrain, and even sheer ribbons. If you're needing to color a large amount, place the twine in a ziplock bag and add a few drops of ink using a Copic refill. The drying time will be longer for the refill technique, whereas the marker technique dries almost instantly.

With this quick tip you can match your ribbon and embellishments to the colored images on your cards. We'd love to see what you create. Stop in with your next project or post an picture to our Facebook Page!
