Valentine's Day Table Settings

Looking for a cute way to decorate your Valentine's dinner or party? Nicole has a few ideas for you! 

Add a little romance to your setting with paper doilies. Creations Galore offers different shapes, sizes, and colors. Find just the right one for your decor. 

Don't forget the silverware! Wrap a napkin and utensils with gold cording, adding a simple tag. Nicole used Bo Bunny's Head Over Heals collection to complete today's place settings. The tag was cut from the Only You 12x12 patterned paper using the AccuCut machine.

To create the arrows, start with BBQ skewers or a thin wood dowel. Punch two hearts out of cardstock, glitter paper, or patterned paper and adhere them to one end of the skewer. Next, cut two shapes for the feathered end. Adhere to the opposite end, and cut along the sides. 

So fun! Not throwing a Valentine's party? Add the arrows to your family's table for an extra special holiday treat!

DIY Valentine's For Kids

Last week our Creative Genius, Nicole, went on Good Day Wisconsin to share easy Valentine's ideas for your children. We've had lots of calls about what was shown; therefore, we've turned it into a blog post just for you! You can see the full video and a few extra ideas here. 

1. Flowers 

First up is this fun flower Valentine. It was one of our favorites to make. To create the base, simply punch out flowers from cardstock or patterned paper. If your child can safely handle a scissors, let him or her cut out the flower and leaf themselves! Next, add the name directly to the leaf or on a banner. Glue the pieces together and include a chocolate kiss in the center. A glue dot will keep it in place. 

2. Snowman Greetings

Not every Valentine has to be full of hearts. Here in Wisconsin, snow still fills the land, making this a great alternative to traditional Valentine's. Nicole punched a circle from white cardstock, and cut a hat and carrot nose by hand from colored cardstock. Assemble the snowman, adding black circles for eyes and a mouth. The Sakura Gelly Roll Pen in White works wonders to write a personal message on the black hat. Ours says, "I'm SNOW glad we're friends." Perfect! Let your kids create their own snowman with friendly greeting.

3. Bookmarks

Just say no to candy, and create a pretty bookmark instead. Nicole went a little crazy adding papers, stickers, and bling from Bo Bunny's Head Over Heals Collection. Your child could simply add a heart or color their own design onto the bookmark. Punch a hole at the top, and add your favorite ribbons.

4. Fingerprint Hearts

Press your child's thumb onto a red or pink ink pad, and then stamp onto a small piece of white cardstock. Re-ink the thumb and press down again to create the second half of the heart. Let your child add a heart around the design with crayon or marker. Then add their name and a cute note to their Valentine.
